As some of you know Molly was taken ill late on Sunday night and had to be rushed to hospital on Monday when she worsened. She is still there being treated with IV fluids and antibiotics. She has Diabetic Ketoacidosis, dry eye, a nasal infection, an infection in her foot ( we don’t know where she got that one from bless her ) and a respiratory infection. When we took her in on Monday she could not stand up and if she did manage to get up she staggered around and fell over, she had not eaten, she was dehydrated from vomiting so much, her sugar and potassium levels were too high as well. Thankfully her sugar levels are being stabilised and her potassium is stable as well. She has managed to stand ( well squat ) outside for a tinkles today and has managed to eat some chicken which is brilliant. She is not out of the woods yet by any means but my girl is the bravest little dog I have met in my life and she is a fighter.
However if the doctor tells me that she is going to suffer or her quality of life will not be anywhere as good as it has been then I will do what is best for her and not what is best for me or her Pops.
That was not an easy paragraph to have to write as I love my girl like no other dog I have ever had, she means everything to me and her Pops but I am hoping against hope that my girl will do what she does best and prove to everyone what a totally awesome, amazing, wonderful, fantastic and completely adorable little fighter she is.
So fingers, toes, paws and even eyes crossed and I will keep you all updated as and when I know anything.
Thank you all for being here.
With Love
Mollys Momma

I did not know about this, having been a little out of the loop. I am so sorry to hear it and will be keeping everything crossed and so will we all. We want the best possible outcome for Molly and for you. It sounds like she's fighting hard as usual. She's an amazing little doggy.

Oh Molly Mom! This was hard to read too. I know you will do what is best for your princess. You are right to put her quality of life before your own needs, but hopefully you will not need to make that decision. My fingers are crossed that she will rally.

That is the most moving thing I have read today. I truly have tears in my eyes. Molly's Momma knows how special Mollypops is to all of us here at Kissiboo and we all had a little weep today thinking of poor Mollykins. She is a real trooper, a special little girl and touches the heart of everyone that meets her. Come on Molly, we are all rooting for you honey, xxxxxx Chrissie, Boo and Baxter
Poor dear, Molly! me and my momma have been thinking about her today.

Very hard to read for us too - we are so sorry to hear that Molly is so sick. We have our paws crossed for good news. Try not to get to that decision point too soon. We are invoking the power of the paw - it worked well already for so many of our furiends.
Hugs to all and prayers from Mom.
